Earthquake in September 2023: Is it safe to travel to Morocco? 3

In September 2023, Morocco experienced a significant earthquake, a rare event that brought challenges and hardships to our vibrant communities. As a travel-focused platform, I wanted to highlight here at Eco Morocco Tours that we are committed not only to exploring the beauty and culture of Morocco but also to understanding and contributing positively to its recovery and resilience.

The September 2023 Earthquake: Understanding the impact

The earthquake in September 2023 was a stark reminder of nature's unpredictability. Striking the regions of Marrakech and the Atlas Mountains, it caused notable damage to buildings and infrastructure. However, I am incredibly proud to say the spirit of the Moroccan people, known for their resilience and hospitality, shone through as communities came together to support one another.

Safety in Morocco post-earthquake

In the aftermath, the Moroccan government, along with international agencies, acted swiftly to ensure public safety and begin reconstruction efforts. Today, most tourist destinations, including all the major cities like Marrakech, Casablanca, and Fes, remain safe and welcoming for travellers. The government has implemented stringent safety measures and has been working tirelessly to restore any affected infrastructure.
